2022 Organizational Meeting

Hello!

I am writing to everyone to let you know we have just confirmed that we will be able to use the Elks Lodge again this year for rehearsals and meetings, so we are having an organizational meeting this coming Tuesday, the 29th of March at the Elks Lodge in Dunkirk at 7PM.

Anyone who is interested is welcome! At this time, it’s still unclear how the season will unfold and if we have enough members to participate in parades so come to the meeting if you can! That should help us determine how to proceed.

At this time we are hoping to have 4 rehearsals leading up to the Memorial Day Parade in Dunkirk. April 19th, 26th, May 10thand 24th and the Parade on the 30th. Other offers are coming in and it seems like many of the places that we have marched before will be having parades again this year.

Hope to see you there!

WNY Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps finds ‘home sweet home’

The Western New York Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, Inc. is happy to announce that the Dunkirk Elks Club on Central Avenue has agreed to let the Corps use its facilities. The Corps will call the Elks Club its new home.

After being notified that the Acquavia Club would be closing its doors, Robert Teclaw, the Corps director, took it upon himself to find a new practice hall. The Elks Club, always community-minded, stepped forward to offer its facilities as a place to practice.

This is a perfect union, Corps business manager Jack Kujawa explained. “The Elks have always been known for helping the community and its people, and the Alumni Corps is an all-ages, family Corps, bringing families together through music. It’s a win-win for all.”

The Corps’ next rehearsal will be Sunday, Nov. 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Elks Club.

Anyone interested in being part of the Alumni family for the 2014 season can contact Kujawa at 410-2682 or just come to the next rehearsal. Everyone is welcome.

The Corps will participate in several local parades in the coming year.
