The Alumni Drum Corps is getting ready for the 2018 season. “Rehearsals have been going very well,” WNY Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, Inc. Director David Fridmann stated. “Our recruitment program has added 12 new horn players and 10 new drumline members.” This year the corps will be starting a working guard.
They have added Kelly Palmer, a veteran guard instructor, to handle all the guard duties. Jon Fridmann will again serve as the horn instructor and arranger. On percussion, Jack Kujawa, along with drum sergeant Dave Fridmann, will handle all the percussion assignments.
Corps co-business manager Jack Kujawa added, “I can’t believe the sound that we’re getting from our horn line and drumline. This year’s corps should bring smiles on a lot of faces. We’re looking for a few more horn players. Our drumline is just about full. We could use one or two more quad drummers and another bass drummer, and then we’ll be out of drums — a good problem to have. We still have a lot of winter rehearsals left to learn the music so the sooner you join, the better!” If interested in joining the Alumni family, contact Jack at 410-2682 in the Dunkirk area or Carl Vullo at 665-3822 in the Jamestown area.
