The Memorial Day Service and Parade will assemble Monday.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. in Memorial Park on Lake Shore Drive West and will be conducted by the participating organizations of the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council.

The 2016 Parade Marshal is Mr. Jack Sievert, DJVC Commander.

Members of the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council, led by Commander Jack Sievert, third from right in first row, are ready for the parade and Memorial Day services on Monday that begin at 10 a.m. in Memorial Park in Dunkirk.

The Co-Parade Marshals are Mr. Thomas Haynes, DJVC Trustee, and 3rd Division Parade Marshal; Mr. Richard Makuch, DJVC Vice Commander, Trustee, Honor Guard Commander; Mr. Jack Hood, DJVC Adjutant, Trustee; Mr. Danny McGill, DJVC Trustee; Mr. David Dow, DJVC Trustee, Asst. H.G. Cdr. (Ret.) and Mr. David Taber, DJVC Trustee and Asst. H.G. Commander.

This year’s Memorial Day Services & Parade are in memory of Mr. Michael Maslach of the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council.

The 2016 Master of Ceremonies is Mr. John D’Agostino, DJVC and publisher, Dunkirk OBSERVER.

The 2016 Parade Commentator is Mr. David Rowley, News Director, WDOE Radio.

The 2016 Grand Marshal is Mr. Rowland Mahany, World War II veteran U.S. Navy.

Presenter of the 2016 Grand Marshal Plaque is Lt. Christopher Wilson, U.S.C.G. Seas Partners Campaign.

Principal Speaker for this year’s Memorial Day Service is Cdr. George Burns III, USCG (Ret.)

The Memorial Day Parade will start at approximately 11 a.m. and proceed East on Lake Shore Drive West to Central Avenue.

The Parade will turn onto Central Avenue and proceed south to Fifth Street. The Parade turns East on Fifth Street and disbands at Washington Park.

In case of inclement weather the parade will be canceled.

Should the rain continue, Memorial Day Services will be at V.F.W. John T. Murray Post 1017, 113 Second St. Dunkirk, N.Y.

For the Reviewing Stand the band will perform Jay Dawson’s arrangement of NOVUS by Carlos Santana, this chart will feature Junior trumpeter, Brandon Katta and again perform Veteran’s Salute arranged by Jay Dawson.
