The WNY Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, Inc. recently held its second annual banquet at the Kosciuszko Club. Entertainment was provided by the Alumni Drum Corps, which played a concert for family, friends and guests. Patrons from the bar, as well as caterers, also enjoyed the concert.
Corps Director, Robert Teclaw, thanked all the members and their families for their support throughout the season. Teclaw gave special thanks to Jack Kujawa, Corps Business Manager, for keeping the corps business going in his absence.
Corps member, Carl Vullo, expressed appreciation for the younger members of the group, “As older members, we feel like we’re here to help the younger members but in fact they are helping us and they do it with respect.”
This year’s brass instructor and music arranger is Jonathon Fridmann of Fredonia.
Kujawa said, “I can’t begin to tell you how much talent this young man has; he’s amazing.”
Drums will be taught by Kujawa.
The Corps starts its new season Thursday, November 5 at 7 to 9 p.m. The group will rehearse at American Legion Post 62, 211 Central Avenue, Dunkirk.
Members and new members should attend this rehearsal. The group will be learning new music.
For more information, contact Kujawa at 410-2682 or P.O. Box 565, Dunkirk. The group invites members of the public to be a part of the adventure.
