The Western New York Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, Inc. is happy to announce that the Dunkirk Elks Club on Central Avenue has agreed to let the Corps use its facilities. The Corps will call the Elks Club its new home.
After being notified that the Acquavia Club would be closing its doors, Robert Teclaw, the Corps director, took it upon himself to find a new practice hall. The Elks Club, always community-minded, stepped forward to offer its facilities as a place to practice.
This is a perfect union, Corps business manager Jack Kujawa explained. “The Elks have always been known for helping the community and its people, and the Alumni Corps is an all-ages, family Corps, bringing families together through music. It’s a win-win for all.”
The Corps’ next rehearsal will be Sunday, Nov. 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Elks Club.
Anyone interested in being part of the Alumni family for the 2014 season can contact Kujawa at 410-2682 or just come to the next rehearsal. Everyone is welcome.
The Corps will participate in several local parades in the coming year.
