City Memorial Day services, parade lineup set

The Memorial Day Service and Parade will assemble Monday.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. in Memorial Park on Lake Shore Drive West and will be conducted by the participating organizations of the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council.
The 2012 Parade Marshal is Mr. Jack Sievert, Commander, DJVC.

The Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council hosted a planning meeting for this year’s Memorial Day Services and Parade at the American Legion Post 62 in Dunkirk. The services and parade will be conducted on Monday, May 28. The Memorial Day Parade will start at approximately 11 a.m. and proceed east on Lake Shore Drive West to Central Avenue. The parade will turn right onto Central Avenue and proceeds South to Fifth Street. The Parade turns east on Fifth Street and disbands at Washington Park.
In case of inclement weather, the parade will be postponed for up to one hour.
Should the rain continue, Memorial Day services will be at the American Legion Post 62, 211 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, New York.

This program is instructed by Charles Chasler Lt.Col. (Ret.) and Sgt 1st class Frank Torain (Ret.). The Marauder Battalion Commander is Cadet Major Brian Katta.
Chadwick Bay Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps now is their 6th season. The Buccaneers are an all age Drum & Bugle Corps. The Buccaneers play a mix of new and old music ranging from Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” all the way back to the 1938 Jazz hit “Big Noise from Winnetka”.
